About the Role
Interns will gain knowledge and experience through real-life learning opportunities. This position is part of the Plant Engineering team that manages capital improvement projects and provides technical support for building maintenance. Interns in this role may have the opportunity to transition into a full-time position.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide assessment and analysis of opportunities to improve environmental compliance programs and energy programs.
- Streamline data management.
- Streamline reporting processes.
- Explore opportunities to reduce regulatory requirements.
- Document environment and program processes.
- Support Safety Engineer in crossover programs (e.g., industrial hygiene, hazardous materials management).
- Lead and support efforts to foster an inclusive and welcoming workplace culture.
Requirements & Tech Stack
- Experience with Microsoft Excel, Word, & PowerPoint.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Solid organizational skills.
- Creative mindset.
- Interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment.
Qualifications
- Must be currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s program or higher from an accredited college/university OR have recently graduated within 1 year of the position start date (May/June).
- Degree in Environmental Engineering; Civil Engineering or Environmental Health & Safety preferred.
Location
- Detroit, MI US.
Compensation
- Salary placement ranges between $21 - $29 per hour.
