About the Role

Carlisle Construction Materials (CCM) is seeking a Product Management Intern to contribute to the development of product history profiles, market evaluations, and reporting tools. This internship offers an opportunity to work with multiple product lines and present findings to leadership.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build product history profiles by compiling multi-year product history from internal systems, exports, and spreadsheets into consolidated working data sets.
  • Document product positioning, specification, and application over time, identifying usage shifts.
  • Establish a consistent profile format applicable across multiple product lines.
  • Evaluate markets and competitive positioning by researching market size, growth drivers, and customer segments for each product line.
  • Assess competitive alternatives and identify CCM product positioning strengths and weaknesses.
  • Summarize market trends and outside factors influencing product demand.
  • Develop situational models to illustrate the impact of portfolio changes on volume, mix, and customer impact.
  • Test assumptions and sensitivities, documenting model logic and designing models for reusability.
  • Review product and specification code bodies for completeness and accuracy, documenting gaps and recommending corrections.
  • Build reporting tools, including Excel models, pivot tables, and dashboards for ongoing decision-making.
  • Create a repeatable process and documentation for refreshing analysis after the internship.
  • Summarize findings and present recommendations in written reports and presentation materials for Product Management and Marketing leadership.
  • Present final conclusions and recommendations to the project team.
  • Support cross-functional coordination with Product Management, Marketing, Technical Services, and Sales to validate data and resolve questions.

Requirements & Tech Stack

  • Strong Microsoft Excel skills are required, including pivot tables, lookups, and building models with large data sets.
  • Experience with Power BI, Power Query, or similar tools is a plus.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook.

Qualifications

  • Currently pursuing a degree in Business, Marketing, Supply Chain, Engineering, Data Analytics, Economics, Construction Management, or a related field.
  • Comfortable working with imperfect data from multiple sources and reconciling discrepancies.
  • Ability to think in scenarios: structure assumptions, test sensitivities, and explain trade-offs.
  • Coursework in data analysis, statistics, business analytics, market research, or financial modeling is preferred.
  • Analytical mindset with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, able to explain findings clearly to a non-technical audience.
  • Self-directed and able to manage a project over a full semester with periodic check-ins.

Additional Information:

  • Anticipated start date: January 2027.
  • Location: Onsite in Carlisle, PA.
  • Hours: Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.
