About the Role
HCA Houston Healthcare at The Woman's Hospital of Texas is seeking a Histotechnologist.
Key Responsibilities
- Identify, log, and maintain the integrity of specimens, including slide and block files.
- Process, cut, and stain tissue blocks.
- Prepare and cut frozen sections.
- Prepare cytological specimens.
- Prepare reagents, stains, and solutions.
- Perform special procedures: Thin needle, lymph node clearing, decalcification.
- Operate and maintain histology instrumentation.
- Perform required quality control and maintenance.
- Comply with universal precautions and adhere to safety standards and practices.
- May work without direct supervision.
- May be assigned to other tasks and/or required to vary schedule to meet the needs of the laboratory and patients.
Requirements & Tech Stack
- (HT-ASCP) Histotechnician or (HTL-ASCP) Histotechnologist certification.
Qualifications
- No experience required.
