Retirement Domain SME-Manager

About the Role

Working as part of the Consulting team, you will take part in engagements related to a wide range of topics within the retirement domain.

Key Responsibilities

• Defined Benefits Operations, including Benefits calculations and Benefits Review.
• Benefits Calculation for Retirement, Termination, Disability, Death, and Divorce.
• ERISA Compliance for US Retirement Plan Testing (ADP & ACP Testing, Corrective Distribution) & Reporting.
• Understanding in-plan guaranteed income products such as annuities within defined contribution plans.
• Designing or evaluating protected retirement solutions through insurance-wrapped investment vehicles.
• Exposure to recordkeeping platform enhancements to support in-plan income features, including income projection tools, guarantee tracking, and participant-level income illustrations.
• Handling Money In and Loans related activities, including Check processing, contribution, loan initiation, Loan repayments, and re-amortization.
• Processing Disbursements/Distributions such as Hardship withdrawals, QDRO, RMD, In-service distributions, and loans.
• Understanding of business rules for Payout, Qualified/Non-Qualified Plans, Roth Conversion, Roth IRA, Fiduciaries, Defined contribution, and Defined Benefits/Pension.
• Exposure to Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation (PBGC) study and Public Pensions.
• Understanding of plan administration, group and account setup, and eligibility.
• Understanding of Vesting rules and Investment management.
• Knowledge of middle office and back-office processing (retirement account origination, servicing, funds payout, reconciliation of funds).
• Supporting or leading PMO functions for large-scale retirement transformation programs, including project planning, milestone tracking, risk management, and stakeholder reporting.
• Coordinating across business, technology, and vendor teams to ensure alignment with project timelines, scope, and quality standards in retirement platform implementations or upgrades.
• Creating business process maps for future state architecture.
• Creating WBS for overall conversion strategy.
• Refining requirements in multi-vendor engagements.
• Conducting Due-Diligence and Assessment projects as part of Transformation roadmaps to evaluate current state maturity, gaps in functionalities, and COTs solution features.
• Requirements Gathering and Elicitation, including writing BRDs and FSDs.
• Conducting JAD sessions and Workshops to capture requirements and working closely with the Product Owner.
• Defining the most optimal future state operational process and related product configuration with the client.
• Defining scope by providing innovative solutions and challenging client requirements/change requests while ensuring business value.
• Delivering clearly defined requirement documents with relevant data flow and process flow diagrams.
• Analyzing and extracting functional enhancements with the product design development team.
• Providing product consultancy and assisting the client with acceptance criteria gathering and support throughout the project life cycle.
• Managing service delivery within agreed service levels across multiple blended processes.
• Implementing operational governance framework quality review mechanisms and communication strategies.
• Designing technology solution architecture, focusing on innovative and effective solutions.
• Executing data migration projects, ensuring data integrity and security.
• Utilizing data analytics tools and techniques for informed decision-making.
• Applying data governance principles and best practices for data quality and compliance.

Requirements & Tech Stack

• Proficiency in technology solution architecture.
• Experience in data migration projects.
• Skills in data analytics.
• Understanding of data governance principles.
• Industry certifications such as ASPPA/LOMA/RPF are an added advantage.
• Experience on solutions such as ALIS OMNI, Relius, NeoSpin, Vitech, TRAC is preferable.
