2027 Early Talent Internship

About the Role

The 10-week summer internship program is designed to provide hands-on experiences, skills training, and valuable professional networking. This role offers exposure to key business divisions within TIAA, including Actuarial Services, Asset Management, Business Management, Corporate Strategy and Development, Financial Analysis and Accounting, Human Resources, Internal Audit, Law and Policy, Marketing and Communications, Product and Business Development, Retirement Solutions, Risk and Compliance, Technology, and Wealth Management. Nuveen Real Estate is one of the largest real estate investment managers globally. Interns will work with real estate investment management teams across Portfolio Management, Research, Asset Management, and Transactions, gaining a robust, cross-functional experience.

Key Responsibilities

• Support high-impact business initiatives by contributing to meaningful projects that directly support business objectives and client outcomes.
• Collaborate on strategic presentations and research projects, contributing to PowerPoint and Excel deliverables and analytical materials.
• Support project coordination by organizing materials and meetings to ensure seamless information flow.
• Drive independent research initiatives to gather market intelligence, competitive analysis, and supporting documentation.
• Immerse yourself in professional development opportunities through executive speaker series, specialized training programs, and networking events.
• Explore diverse career pathways by working alongside professionals across multiple departments and gaining hands-on experience in various business functions.
• Build comprehensive industry expertise and develop deep knowledge of TIAA's culture, values, and position within the financial services landscape.
• Perform underwriting and market research of potential acquisitions targets using Argus and Excel.
• Contribute to the production of investment memorandums.
• Support transactions officers in the due diligence and closing of acquisitions and dispositions.
• Maintain and source information for the team’s acquisitions pipeline.
• Keep Research Teams updated with local market trends and topics, ensuring relevant databases are created and maintained.
• Research and analyze industry trends, competitors, and product characteristics to support product development activities.
• Prepare detailed product presentations, proposals, and recommendations.
• Respond to inquiries from external business partners and business partners across the organization.
• Ensure that investment stories for assigned products are presented consistently and that products are properly positioned across all customer touch points.
• Screen, evaluate, and help execute new product, new business, M&A, and partnership opportunities that align with the overall NRE strategy.
• Participate and contribute to pipeline discussions and teleconferences.
• Develop and manage detailed project plans in support of product development and product enhancement initiatives.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in a degree-seeking program with an expected graduation date between December 2027– June 2028.
• Minimum GPA of 3.0.
• Must have authorization to work in the U.S. and not require current or future work visa sponsorship to retain authorization to work in the U.S.
