Accounting Intern Areas

Accounting interns are placed in the following areas:

• Operations Accounting (Findlay, San Antonio, & Denver – All Terms)
• Refinery Accounting – (Various Locations – Summer Term)
• Tax Accounting (Findlay – All Terms)
• Audit Assurance & Advisory Services (Findlay and San Antonio* – All Terms)

Key Responsibilities

As an intern, you will receive on-the-job training related to:

• The dynamics of the petroleum industry
• The specifics of your job assignment
• The use of various software programs

Specific duties may include:

• Analyzing and processing of business documents
• Analysis of accounting and financial data to prepare proper financial statement journal entries
• Preparation of general ledger account reconcilements
• Preparation of tax information
• Testing SOX and Non-SOX controls in auditing
• Assistance in preparing budgets

You will also have the opportunity to interface with a variety of departments outside of the Controller's Organization, developing collaborative relationships.

Requirements & Tech Stack

• Concurrent enrollment in a bachelors degree (or higher) seeking program for the duration of the experience
• Availability to work 40 hours per week
• Must be able to provide reliable transportation to and from place of work
• Positions are available spring, summer, and fall semesters
• Pay Range: $21.63 - $27.04 per hour

Qualifications

• Accounting major is preferred; other business majors may be considered.
• Strong academic performance
• Candidates must be authorized to work in the US on a full-time indefinite basis without the need for employment visa sponsorship.
• Military experience a plus
