Backend Intern

About the Role

Kodo is seeking a Backend Intern to join their engineering team and contribute to their B2B Enterprise SaaS product. This role offers hands-on experience in designing, developing, and maintaining backend services, working alongside experienced engineers. It's an opportunity for individuals passionate about backend development to build skills in modern backend technologies and software engineering practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain backend services using Node.js under the guidance of experienced engineers.
• Write clean, efficient, and maintainable code.
• Assist in developing and integrating new product features.
• Build and work with REST APIs and backend services.
• Work with databases and third-party integrations.
• Write unit tests and follow good software development practices.
• Debug issues and help improve the performance, reliability, and scalability of backend systems.
• Collaborate with other engineers to understand requirements and deliver solutions.
• Participate in code reviews and learn industry best practices.
• Contribute to building secure and scalable backend systems.

Requirements & Tech Stack

• Good understanding of JavaScript and Node.js.
• Basic understanding of backend development and REST APIs.
• Familiarity with databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, MongoDB, or similar.
• Understanding of Git and version control.
• Skills: backend, api, node.js

Qualifications

• Pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor's/Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
• Strong understanding of programming fundamentals, OOP, data structures, and algorithms.
• Good problem-solving and analytical skills.
• Strong willingness to learn and work in a fast-paced environment.
