About the Role
Internship within the R&D team at Ossus Biorenewables, a cleantech company producing green hydrogen from industrial waste. This role provides hands-on exposure to sustainable bioenergy development and contributes to innovation in the field.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in analytical method development and HPLC-based compound analysis.
- Conduct microbial characterisation, microbial cultivation, strain screening, and sample processing.
- Prepare culture media, buffers, and support analytical workflows.
- Perform microbial characterisation, including morphological, biochemical, and electrochemical profiling.
- Identify and troubleshoot experimental bottlenecks.
- Propose and take ownership of mini-projects or innovations within the scope of ongoing work.
- Maintain well-documented, organised lab notebooks and data records.
- Participate in the design and setup of new experiments based on project needs.
Requirements & Tech Stack
- Background in Biotechnology, Microbiology, Biochemistry, or related life science disciplines.
- Demonstrated troubleshooting ability and a solution-oriented mindset.
- Strong documentation habits and attention to detail.
- Self-motivated and proactive individuals eager to learn, contribute, and innovate.
- Academic students looking for an internship can apply.
- Prior experience or academic exposure to Microbial Electrolysis Cells (MECs), chemical assays, or microbial characterisation is highly preferred.
