About the Role

Potbelly Sandwich Shop is seeking friendly and outgoing individuals to join our team in a fast-paced, friendly environment. This role is focused on providing customers with an excellent experience through fast, friendly, and efficient service, delivering quality products, and maintaining a clean and inviting atmosphere.

Key Responsibilities

• Work multiple stations including load, dress, shakes, cash, prep, and front as directed.
• Comply with health and safety standards for food, cleanliness, and safety.
• Restock food line, chips, and cooler.
• Prepare quality finished products such as sandwiches, salads, soups, cookies, and ice cream efficiently.
• Use the automatic slicer to prep food items (if 18 or older).
• Clean tables, counters, floors, bathrooms, kitchen, and utensils; take out trash.
• Operate the cash register, including handling, balancing, and following cash handling procedures.
• Effectively handle customer complaints and issues.
• Take delivery, catering, and pickup orders over the phone.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements & Tech Stack

• At least 16 years of age.
• Friendly, customer-first mindset.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, energetic environment.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Comfortable working in a bustling kitchen environment.
• Ability to manage potential allergens: peanut products, egg, dairy, gluten, soy, seafood, and shellfish.
• Team player mentality.
• Ability to stand/walk a minimum of 3 hours or as needed.
• Ability to lift up to 10 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
• Knife skills are a big plus.
• If hired, all Illinois employees are required to become food safety certified within 30 days of employment.
