Vessel operator

About the Role

The Vessel Operator will oversee day-to-day vessel operations, ensuring efficient and compliant port calls from arrival to departure. This full-time on-site role, based in New Delhi, includes coordinating with ports, terminals, shipmasters, and clients for cargo operations, documentation, and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitor voyage progress.
• Arrange services such as bunkering and husbandry.
• Handle operational communication.
• Resolve any issues that may affect schedules, safety, or costs.
• Maintain accurate operational records.
• Prepare reports.
• Support continuous improvement of processes to optimize turnaround time and service quality.

Requirements & Tech Stack

• MS Office proficiency.
• Basic maritime operations software or systems proficiency.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of vessel operations, port procedures, and maritime regulations.
• Experience coordinating cargo operations, agency services, and husbandry support.
• Ability to manage documentation, compliance requirements, and communication with stakeholders.
• Effective organizational, problem-solving, and time management skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Additional languages are an advantage.
• Prior experience in shipping, logistics, or maritime services is preferred.
• Relevant diploma or degree in Shipping, Maritime Studies, Logistics, or a related field is beneficial.
• Willingness to work flexible hours according to vessel schedules and operational demands.
• Ability to collaborate with diverse teams and maintain a professional, customer-focused approach.
