About the Role
We are building the legal team at truecounsel and hiring interns. No experience is required. What matters is the ability to figure out new tasks, learn quickly, and complete them.
What You'll Work On
You will get hands-on exposure to:
- Contract review, drafting and redlining
- Legal notices, replies and pleadings
- Legal research, case management and memos
- Presentations and briefing business leaders
- Using AI to improve workflows, automate tasks and build tracking dashboards
- CLM implementation, operations and process improvement
Who We're Looking For
Someone with a strong desire to excel, who:
- Is willing to research a subject for hours to understand it thoroughly.
- Takes pride in producing exceptional work, including legal memos, contract redlines, pleadings, spreadsheets, or presentations.
- Listens carefully, follows instructions, and pays attention to detail.
- Learns independently.
- Can explain and defend the reasoning behind every word written.
- Takes ownership and stands by delivered work.
A rough draft shared within an hour is often more valuable than a perfect draft held for days.
What We Offer
A best-in-class stipend for the right candidate, meaningful responsibility, hands-on learning, and a genuine opportunity to grow.
Progression
- Month 1: Initial performance and learning review.
- Month 2: Progress review, focusing on independence and quality of work.
- Month 3: Formal review and opportunity to transition to a full-time Associate role at truecounsel, with a revised salary.
Exceptional candidates may transition earlier if they demonstrate the required ability, maturity, and ownership.
