Account Assistant

About the Role

This is a full-time, on-site Accounts Assistant role based in Mumbai. The expected joining date is within 7 days.

Key Responsibilities

• Support daily accounting operations.
• Post accounting entries and maintain ledgers.
• Handle invoices.
• Assist with reconciliations.
• Manage petty cash transactions.
• Prepare basic financial reports.
• Support credit control activities, including follow-ups for payments and monitoring outstanding balances.
• Coordinate with internal teams and external stakeholders.
• Maintain accurate documentation.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and timelines.

Requirements & Tech Stack

• Proficiency in MS Excel.
• Familiarity with accounting software will be beneficial.

Qualifications

• Accounting and finance skills:
• Basic bookkeeping.
• Ledger management.
• Understanding of financial records.
• Credit control skills:
• Monitoring receivables.
• Supporting collection efforts.
• Tracking payment status.
• Petty cash management skills:
• Recording transactions.
• Maintaining vouchers.
• Reconciling cash balances.
• Strong communication skills to coordinate effectively with internal departments, clients, and vendors.
• Attention to detail.
• Numerical accuracy.
• Ability to meet deadlines in a fast-paced logistics environment.
• Relevant qualifications such as a bachelor’s degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field are preferred.
• Prior experience in accounts or finance, especially in logistics or freight forwarding, will be an advantage.
