About the Role

We are looking for a QA / Test Automation Engineer to join the team building our network automation application. You will design and maintain automated tests and help ensure the quality and reliability of releases. You will evaluate and improve the quality and effectiveness of the existing tests and improve overall automated testing solution. Where automation not possible you will perform manual tests prior to and after feature releases.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, build, and maintain automated test suites using pytest and Selenium.
  • Test the React/HTML front end and the Python back end, including the workflows that drive network automation.
  • Validate data in Oracle/SQL by writing queries to confirm correctness and integrity.
  • Create test plans, test cases, and test data from requirements and user stories.
  • Log, triage, and track defects in Jira, and work with developers to resolve them.
  • Integrate automated tests into CI/CD pipelines and report on results.
  • Identify gaps in coverage and suggest improvements to testing processes.

Requirements & Tech Stack

  • Hands-on experience with Python and pytest.
  • Experience with Selenium for web UI automation.
  • Working knowledge of SQL, ideally Oracle.
  • Familiarity with web technologies (HTML, React) and how to test them.
  • Experience using Jira for issue tracking and agile workflows.
  • Solid understanding of QA methodologies and the software test lifecycle.
  • Understanding of networking concepts such as route/switch, firewalls, ip address management, proxy, load balancers and other networking technologies.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with API testing and CI/CD tools.

Key Attributes

  • Self-starter: works independently, takes initiative, and drives tasks to completion.
  • Attention to detail: thorough, careful, and able to spot subtle defects.
