About FitVoyages

FitVoyages is a maritime technology company focused on improving operational efficiency for offshore vessel owners, operators, and charterers through intelligent vessel performance monitoring.

About the Role

As a Junior Vessel Performance Analyst, you will support the monitoring and analysis of vessel operational data collected through onboard sensors and performance-monitoring systems. You will work with fuel consumption, engine performance, shaft power, voyage data, and other operational parameters to identify trends, investigate anomalies, and prepare performance reports. This role offers an excellent opportunity for an early-career professional to develop expertise in maritime analytics, vessel performance optimization, and data-driven fleet management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Vessel Performance Monitoring
  • Monitor vessel operational data, including fuel consumption, engine load, shaft power, speed, and voyage parameters.
  • Track vessel performance across different operating conditions, including transit, standby, and Dynamic Positioning (DP) operations.
  • Identify unusual consumption patterns, performance deviations, and potential operational inefficiencies.
  • Support the preparation of daily, weekly, and monthly vessel performance summaries.
  • Data Analysis and Quality Checks
  • Review incoming vessel telemetry and sensor data for completeness, consistency, and accuracy.
  • Identify missing readings, abnormal values, data gaps, and inconsistencies in operational datasets.
  • Assist in investigating data anomalies in coordination with technical and engineering teams.
  • Maintain accurate records of vessel performance data and analysis findings.
  • Fuel Efficiency and Performance Analytics
  • Analyze fuel consumption in relation to vessel speed, engine load, power output, and operating conditions.
  • Assist in evaluating specific fuel oil consumption (SFOC) and other relevant performance indicators.
  • Support comparisons between vessel operating periods and identify potential opportunities for efficiency improvements.
  • Help assess fuel consumption and generator loading patterns during DP and other offshore operations.
  • Contribute to analysis supporting fuel efficiency and emissions monitoring initiatives.
  • Reporting and Dashboards
  • Prepare vessel performance reports, charts, and operational summaries using Microsoft Excel and internal monitoring platforms.
  • Assist in developing dashboards to track fuel consumption, engine performance, and fleet-level KPIs.
  • Present findings in a clear and structured format for technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Maintain documentation of analysis methods, assumptions, and observations.
  • Customer and Cross-functional Support
  • Support the Data Operations team in vessel onboarding and initial data validation.
  • Assist in reviewing vessel operating profiles and sensor readings during customer implementations.
  • Coordinate with Engineering and Customer Success teams to investigate technical data issues.
  • Help prepare performance reports and data summaries for customer discussions.
  • Document recurring issues and contribute suggestions for improving reporting and analytical workflows.
  • Process Improvement
  • Identify opportunities to improve the accuracy and efficiency of data analysis and reporting.
  • Assist in developing standard operating procedures for vessel performance monitoring.
  • Explore opportunities to automate repetitive data-processing tasks.
  • Stay updated on maritime technology, vessel efficiency, and marine performance-monitoring practices.
