Healthcare Data Analyst, Entry Level

About the Internship

Medinex Workforce works with hospitals, diagnostic labs, and clinics. This internship offers the opportunity to work with healthcare data, turning it into clear reports to identify improvements and cost savings. All work will be performed on anonymised or approved data.

Key Responsibilities

• Clean and organise healthcare datasets (visit records, billing data, lab data, pharmacy data).
• Write SQL queries to extract data for reports.
• Build dashboards and reports in Excel, Power BI, or Looker Studio.
• Track trends in case volumes, costs, turnaround times, and operational performance.
• Check data for errors, duplicates, and missing values.
• Work with anonymised or approved data and adhere to data privacy practices.
• Write summaries of findings for non-technical teams.
• Participate in daily check-ins and weekly reviews.

Requirements & Tech Stack

• Good working knowledge of Excel (formulas, pivot tables, lookups, charts).
• Basic SQL (SELECT, JOIN, GROUP BY, filters).
• Interest in healthcare, life sciences, or hospital operations.
• Analytical thinking and attention to detail.
• Respect for data confidentiality and professional ethics.
• A laptop and stable internet connection for remote work.
• Familiarity with Power BI, Tableau, or Python is a plus.
• Understanding of medical terms or healthcare processes is a plus.
• A dashboard or analysis project built independently is a plus.

Qualifications

• Final-year students and recent graduates from B.Pharm, D.Pharm, Pharm.D, B.Sc or M.Sc (Life Sciences, Biotechnology, Microbiology, Statistics), BHM, MHA, B.Tech, BCA, MCA, BBA or related streams.
• Self-taught learners who can demonstrate a project or certificate.
• Freshers are welcome; prior experience is not required.
• Must be available full-time for the internship period (1 to 3 months).
