Corporate Communications Intern

About the Role

EMC Insurance Companies is offering a full-time paid summer internship within the Marketing & Communications department. This position is eligible for a hybrid schedule from the Des Moines metro.

Key Responsibilities

• Work alongside the Corporate Communications Manager and other members of the Marketing & Communications department.
• Assist with internal and external communications campaigns and projects.
• Collaborate with business partners to assess needs.
• Draft communications.
• Assist with the maintenance of the company intranet, including implementing strategic changes, supporting site admins, and building/publishing content.
• Support the broader Marketing & Communications department by performing other work as assigned, such as project coordination, copywriting, and proofreading.

Qualifications

• Major in Communications, Public Relations, or a related field.
• Completion of junior year.
• Cumulative GPA of 3.00 or higher.
• Related coursework required.
• Experience with business-style writing preferred.
