Supply Assurance Buyer I

About the Role

The Supply Assurance Buyer I at Bio-Rad ensures the availability of necessary materials and components for production, balancing inventory levels with production demands. This is a five-days-per-week on-site position based in Irvine, CA, within commuting distance of the office. The role supports external locations, primarily the Portland, Maine location, requiring adherence to an Eastern Time schedule.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure timely execution of MRP supply, forecast, and exception reports to suppliers, aligning delivery commitments with production requirements.
• Oversee purchasing of both direct and indirect commodities, including chemicals, biologicals, and packaging components.
• Expedite deliveries and address material shortages to support uninterrupted production.
• Manage and resolve supplier returns, goods receipts, and invoice discrepancies promptly.
• Maintain data accuracy and integrity while adhering to established procedures and standards.
• Optimize inventory levels to support production needs while minimizing inventory holding costs.
• Serve as a liaison between Purchasing and internal stakeholders to ensure alignment on supply needs and priorities.

Requirements & Tech Stack

• Possess good computer skills including MS Office and strong in Microsoft Excel.
• Knowledgeable of SAP ERP will be advantageous.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Supply Chain Management, logistics, Business Administration, Chemistry, Biology or related discipline.
• 0-2 years of purchasing and planning experience. Some experience in purchasing preferred.
• Experience in Manufacturing environment.
