Tax Preparer / Enrolled Agent

About the Role

Arete Financial & Legal Solutions is seeking an Enrolled Agent (EA) and/or Tax Preparer to join their tax department. The role is in-person in Goodyear, AZ, and is available as Full-Time or Part-Time. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, client-focused, and committed to delivering exceptional service.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare and review business, individual, and/or estate and trust tax returns.
• Conduct tax research and stay current on federal and state tax law changes.
• Communicate directly with clients to gather information and answer tax-related questions.
• Assist with proactive tax planning and year-round advisory services.
• Ensure data accuracy and compliance standards are upheld.
• Represent clients before the IRS and state taxing authorities.

Requirements & Tech Stack

• Active Preparer Tax Identification Number (PTIN)
• Active Enrolled Agent (EA) and/or CPA designation preferred
• Strong knowledge of federal and state tax regulations
• Excellent communication and client service skills

Qualifications

• Minimum hourly rate for an Entry-Level Tax Preparer / Data Entry: $30.00
• Minimum hourly rate for an Enrolled Agent / Credentialed Preparer: $40.00
• Potential for salaried track for Mid-to-Senior Tax Professionals up to $130,000/year
