About the Role
UprootSecurity is building a Compliance Automation Platform with a small team and big ideas. We are seeking an intern who is eager to build and contribute directly to the product.
Key Responsibilities
- Build features for real users, end-to-end.
- Own a full module, including decision-making on its functionality.
- Fix bugs, ranging from simple to complex.
- Participate in code reviews, debugging sessions, product discussions, and documentation.
- Ship features frequently and manage the development lifecycle.
Requirements & Tech Stack
- Node.js: Experience building backends or APIs; comfortable with asynchronous programming.
- Postgres: Ability to write queries and understand the importance of indexes.
- Redis: Familiarity with caching, sessions, and rate limiting.
- OAuth: Understanding of authentication flows.
- Problem Solving: Aptitude for tackling challenging problems.
Fundamentals
- Operating Systems: Knowledge of processes, threads, and memory management.
- Databases: Understanding of transactions, indexing, and query performance.
- Networking: Familiarity with HTTP, TCP, and DNS.
- DSA (Data Structures and Algorithms): Sufficient knowledge to select appropriate tools for tasks.
Internship Details

- Location: Kochi, Kerala
- Duration: 3 months
- Potential for a full-time position upon successful completion.
