About the Role

The Structured Credit & Trading team at Reinsurance Group of America, Incorporated (RGA) specializes in credit analysis and trading for RGA’s structured assets across RMBS, CMBS, CLO, and ABS. The team seeks relative value opportunities across all structured products asset classes and sectors. This intern position will provide exposure to the various roles and responsibilities within the investments department of an insurance company.

Key Responsibilities

• Learn methods and thought processes for analyzing industries, issuers, collateral, and structural characteristics of structured products.
• Understand how a credit & trading team makes investment decisions within the RGA mandate, achieving income goals within ALM constraints.
• Work as a member of the Structured Credit & Trading team managing RGA’s structured asset portfolio.
• Support Traders/PMs and analysts in their due diligence process and reporting needs.
• Potentially build new tool sets for analysis or reporting.

Requirements & Tech Stack

• Advanced proficiency in MS Excel.
• Proficiency in at least one programming language (Python & SQL preferred).
• Basic development or scripting experience used to extract data from various sources.
• Proven ability to handle, clean, and analyze datasets.

Qualifications

• Must be enrolled as a full-time student at the Junior, Senior, or Graduate level pursuing a degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, or related degree program at an accredited US University.
• On track to graduate with Honors, maintaining a 3.5+ GPA.
• Strong initiation to learn new concepts.
• Proactive in asking thoughtful questions and seeking feedback.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Entrepreneurial thinker and self-motivated.
