Job Objective

To coordinate activities within a shift at Post Production (ATS, Printing, Camera, Packing) to achieve AFOE@Despatch on a shift basis with desired quality. The Shift Lead will be responsible for managing all shift activities for the entire hall/all machines.

Key Responsibilities

• Monitoring and verifying all shift activities, including manning and execution of Post Production Planning, for allocated lines.
• Preparing shift machine performance reports to support decision-making.
• Implementing quality corrections (e.g., Ink Viscosity, Camera challenge test, NOU test) to minimize Printing defects and achieve target AFOE@Despatch.
• Ensuring all requirements (material, condition) are in place for Colour Change.
• Monitoring ATS Operation with Production and performing Quality Check line clearance of ATS, Printing, Camera, FCS, and Checkweigher machines as per SOP.
• Monitoring Print and Camera Process parameters to ensure desired quality.
• Ensuring 100% SAP entries for Dips, Counting, printing confirmation, and downtime.
• Supervising colour change with required cGMP and GDP requirements.
• Coordinating with interfacing functions during colour change and machine downtime to ensure efficient line operation with no backlog/WIP.
• Monitoring and providing feedback on production line WIP for batch cut-off.
• Ensuring availability of necessary material for the shift (Shift Plan, CC plan, MR, RR, Spare availability, ink, clothes, IPA, Packing material) to ensure efficient line operation.
• Communicating online rejection analysis (Attribute defects to Production, Printing defects to Line Operator) to maintain consistent quality.
• Executing Camera teaching and challenge tests in the presence of QC where required.
• Ensuring proper SOP adherence, including cGMP and Regulatory guidelines, for regular operations and audits.
• Communicating CAPA or complaints to associates in meetings to prevent future occurrences.
• Implementing continuous improvement actions reviewed by the Section Head.
• Optimizing consumption of consumable and non-consumable items to reduce losses.
• Training operators for multi-skilling.
• Conducting contract training and interviews for new hires jointly with the Team Lead.
• Highlighting internal stranger complaints in regular meetings.
• Reviewing shift documents.
• Planning and delivering training to operators on GDP.
• Ensuring associates attend training on GMP and DI policy.
• Ensuring adherence to safety guidelines, Environment Management System - ISO14001-2015, Occupational Health and Safety - ISO45001-2018, cGMP, regulatory & statutory compliances, TPM, and other applicable norms.
• Ensuring compliance with all safety procedures and company policies.
• Supporting quality inspections, audits, and process improvements.
• Monitoring attendance, discipline, and employee performance.
• Supporting Lean, Kaizen, 5S, TPM, or other improvement programs.
• Monitoring equipment performance and reporting abnormalities.
• Ensuring accurate documentation of incidents, production, and quality data.
• Preparing various reports.
• Monitoring and reviewing Multiskilling initiatives.
• Ensuring proper manning and shift handling.
• Providing effective training to operators with evaluation for compliance.
• Ensuring effective manning for resource utilization.
• Executing any additional responsibilities assigned by management.
