Junior Fabric Merchandiser

About the Role

The Junior Fabric Merchandiser role is a full-time, on-site position based in Mumbai. This role involves assisting in fabric sourcing, sampling, and order follow-ups, as well as coordinating with suppliers, mills, and internal production teams to ensure fabric quality, timelines, and specifications are met.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in fabric sourcing, sampling, and order follow-ups.
• Coordinate with suppliers, mills, and internal production teams.
• Prepare fabric swatch cards.
• Maintain fabric libraries.
• Update order status reports.
• Support price negotiations with vendors under guidance.
• Communicate with clients and internal stakeholders.
• Resolve basic queries.
• Track shipment schedules.
• Support the senior merchandising team in customer presentations and market research on trends, fibers, and finishes.

Requirements & Tech Stack

• Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
• Strong organizational skills for managing data and documentation.

Qualifications

• Strong Communication skills to coordinate effectively with internal teams, suppliers, and clients.
• Customer Service skills to address client needs, manage queries, and support long-term business relationships.
• Sales and Retail knowledge to understand buyer requirements, pricing considerations, and retail market trends.
• Marketing skills to assist in presenting fabrics, preparing product decks, and supporting brand positioning for global clients.
• Diploma or bachelor’s degree in Textile Engineering, Fashion Technology, Merchandising, or a related field.
• Basic understanding of fabrics, yarns, dyeing, printing, and garment construction, with a willingness to learn and grow.
• Ability to work on-site in Mumbai.
• Ability to handle multiple tasks and collaborate in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
