About the EmERge Program

The EmERge Program offers immersive emergency veterinarian training designed to develop skilled, confident, and proficient emergency veterinarians capable of administering life-saving care. This one-year program provides hands-on training, lectures, mentoring, and real-world experience.

Program Structure

• Part 1: 14 weeks of accelerated boot camp and initial training
• First two weeks: Virtual asynchronous learning.
• Next two weeks: Immersive, in-person boot camp with the EmERge cohort, including hands-on labs, ER case scenarios, and critical practical skills.
• Remaining 10 weeks: Rotation at the primary hospital through emergency, critical care, and other specialties.
• Part 2: 20 weeks of hands-on, immersive training guided by an experienced clinician mentor.
• Part 3: 18 weeks of experiential training with continued mentoring.

Commitment

• One-year work commitment required after training, totaling two years.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited veterinary school.
• Passed (or pending) the NAVLE.
• Licensed (or eligible for licensure) in the state of interest.
• Note: The EmERge program does not replace or substitute an internship required for residency application.

Compensation During The Program

• Weeks 1-14: $4615.38 bi-weekly (equivalent to $120,000 annually).
• Weeks 15-34: $4615.38 bi-weekly (equivalent to $120,000 annually).
• Weeks 35-52: Market Rate begins (if ready to start experiential training by week 37).
