Role Overview
- Seeking a WordPress Design & Developer with an understanding of WordPress and hosting environments.
- Ideal for individuals early in their career, confident working independently with WordPress websites from setup to deployment, and eager to grow with a startup.
- Responsible for designing, developing, managing, and maintaining WordPress websites in collaboration with the team.
Key Responsibilities
WordPress Development
- Set up and configure WordPress websites from scratch.
- Install, customize, and manage WordPress themes and plugins.
- Build and design pages using page builders like Elementor, Gutenberg.
- Customize layouts, styles, and basic functionality using HTML, CSS, and minimal PHP.
- Ensure websites are responsive and optimized for different devices.
Design & User Experience
- Design clean, modern, and user-friendly website layouts.
- Maintain visual consistency with branding guidelines.
- Optimize website navigation and structure for usability.
Hosting & Technical Management
- Manage WordPress hosting platforms (shared, VPS, or managed hosting).
- Configure domains, DNS, SSL certificates, and email settings.
- Handle website backups, security, and performance optimization.
- Migrate WordPress websites between hosting environments.
Maintenance & Optimization
- Perform regular WordPress core, theme, and plugin updates.
- Troubleshoot and resolve basic technical issues and bugs.
- Optimize website speed and performance.
- Ensure basic on-page SEO best practices are followed.
Collaboration & Growth
- Work closely with founders and team members to implement ideas.
- Communicate progress, challenges, and solutions clearly.
- Take ownership of assigned projects and timelines.
- Continuously learn and improve technical and design skills.
Requirements & Tech Stack
- Understanding of WordPress (themes, plugins, dashboard, content management).
- Experience setting up and managing WordPress hosting environments.
- Knowledge of domain management, DNS, and SSL configuration.
- Working knowledge of HTML and CSS.
- Familiarity with WordPress page builders (Elementor, Gutenberg, etc.).
- Basic understanding of responsive design principles.
- Ability to work independently and manage tasks efficiently.
Preferred (Nice to Have) Skills
- Basic knowledge of PHP and JavaScript.
- Experience with performance and security plugins.
- Understanding of SEO fundamentals.
- Familiarity with Git or basic version control.
- Experience working in a startup or fast-paced environment.
Qualifications
- 0-2 years of experience (personal projects, freelance work, or internships count).
Work Arrangement
- Full-Time | Remote
- Job Timings: 8 AM - 5 PM CST (7:30 PM - 4:30 AM IST)
- Saturday and Sunday off
