Job Title: Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) Trainee

About the Role

• Entry-level healthcare position designed to develop future Surgical Technologists through a structured education and clinical training pathway supported by Stepful.
• Trainee participates in classroom instruction, simulation, competency validation, and supervised clinical experiences.
• Develops the knowledge and skills necessary to successfully obtain Surgical Technologist certification and transition into a Certified Surgical Technologist role.

Key Responsibilities

• Participate in all Stepful educational requirements, coursework, assessments, and training activities.
• Assist with preparation of operating and procedure rooms under supervision.
• Gather, organize, transport, and stock instruments, supplies, and equipment.
• Learn and apply aseptic technique, infection prevention practices, and sterile field principles.
• Assist with room turnover and equipment readiness.
• Support instrument processing and sterilization activities.
• Observe and progressively participate in perioperative workflows under approved supervision.
• Maintain required documentation and competency records.
• Comply with patient safety, confidentiality, quality, and regulatory standards.

Requirements & Tech Stack

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Enrollment in or acceptance to a Stepful-supported Surgical Technology pathway.
• Ability to satisfy clinical placement requirements and background screening requirements.
• Basic computer proficiency and communication skills.
