About the Role
We are looking for an AI Engineering Intern to help build the core intelligence layer of a compliance-focused SaaS product. You will work on RAG pipelines, tool calling systems, and an internal platform that keeps the AI knowledge base current — all in a production environment, not a sandbox.
Key Responsibilities
- Ingest, clean, and structure statutory and regulatory documents into a searchable knowledge base
- Build and maintain a retrieval-augmented generation (RAG) pipeline
- Implement and manage tool calling so the assistant can query APIs, trigger calculations, and act beyond retrieval
- Define and version tool schemas; ensure reliable tool selection across query types
- Contribute to a content management interface for non-technical users to update regulatory content
- Evaluate response quality and iterate on prompts and retrieval logic
Requirements & Tech Stack
- Pursuing or completed a degree in Computer Science or Engineering
- Experience with Python and at least one LLM framework (LangChain, LlamaIndex, or similar)
- Working knowledge of tool/function calling (OpenAI-style or equivalent)
- Familiarity with vector databases and embedding models
- Comfortable working with REST APIs and structured data
Preferred
- Exposure to Indian statutory frameworks (GST, income tax, company law)
- Experience building agentic or multi-tool workflows
- OCR / PDF parsing experience
