Artificial Intelligence Engineer intern

About the Role

We're looking for an AI Engineer Intern to join our e-commerce development team. You’ll build and ship AI features into our online store and internal tools, focusing on product content, search and recommendations, customer support automation, and time-saving workflows. This role starts as an internship with a path to a permanent full-time position after a performance review.

Key Responsibilities

• Build AI features for our e-commerce platform, including product description and listing generation, smart search, product recommendations, and chat-based customer support.
• Use LLM APIs (e.g., OpenAI, Anthropic Claude, Google Gemini) to automate content, catalogue, and order workflows.
• Write, test, and refine prompts to improve AI output quality.
• Automate repetitive back-office tasks such as catalogue updates, pricing sheets, reports, and data cleaning.
• Connect AI tools with the e-commerce stack (store platform, payment gateway, inventory, CRM) via APIs and webhooks.
• Support the marketing team with AI-generated product images, ad copy, and social media content.
• Maintain simple documentation of built features and track their performance.

Requirements & Tech Stack

• Working knowledge of Python and/or JavaScript.
• Hands-on experience with at least one LLM API or AI framework (e.g., LangChain, LlamaIndex, Hugging Face).
• Basic understanding of REST APIs, JSON, and databases (SQL or NoSQL).
• Curiosity about e-commerce operations (catalogues, conversion, customer experience).
• Clear communication in English.
• Ability to work independently and manage tasks end-to-end.

Qualifications

• Student or recent graduate in Computer Science, IT, Data Science, AI/ML, or a related field (B.Tech / B.E. / BCA / MCA / M.Sc.).

Good to Have

• Experience with Shopify, WooCommerce, or another e-commerce platform.
• Familiarity with RAG, vector databases, or AI agents.
• Experience with no-code or low-code automation tools (e.g., Zapier, Make, n8n).
• Basic front-end skills (HTML/CSS, React).
• A GitHub profile, portfolio, or personal AI projects.
