About the Role
This is a per diem, non-professional position as a Pharmacy Intern at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital Hudson Valley Hospital. The role involves rotating shifts and requires working 1 day per week and 1 weekend per month.
Key Responsibilities
- Under close supervision of the Pharmacy Manager and/or Pharmacist, performs preparation of medications.
- Performs clerical duties.
- Performs maintenance of supplies in the satellite Pharmacy Unit.
- Prepares batches of sterile and non-sterile products according to a recipe prepared by a pharmacist.
- Reconstitutes solutions.
- Manufactures stock preparations and suspensions.
- Re-packages medication when needed.
Requirements & Tech Stack
- High school diploma or GED
- Intern License
- Ability to perform mathematical calculations, i.e., addition, subtraction, multiplication, and division.
- Experience in an approved NYPH pharmacy-training program or at least one-year work experience.
- Must live within a commutable distance to NYP.
