Role Overview
As an AI Data Analyst Intern, you will work on real analytical projects for business, operations, and product teams, utilizing AI tools as a core component of your workflow. The ideal candidate uses AI to accelerate work while rigorously validating all data before presenting it to stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Own project-specific analyses for business, operations, or product teams.
- Write, debug, and optimize SQL queries, leveraging AI assistants for speed and personally validating all results.
- Build and maintain dashboards in Tableau / Power BI to track key metrics and trends.
- Utilize AI chatbots (ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini) and AI coding tools (Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, or similar) for data exploration, automating repetitive reporting, and prototyping small tools.
- Identify patterns, gaps, and opportunities within the data, translating them into clear recommendations.
- Present insights to stakeholders in a clear and structured manner.
- Document prompts, workflows, and automations for team reusability.
Requirements & Tech Stack
- Hands-on SQL (joins, aggregations, window functions).
- Working knowledge of Excel/Google Sheets (pivots, lookups) and Tableau and/or Power BI.
- Regular, hands-on use of AI chatbots for practical work.
- Basic experience with at least one AI coding tool or agent (Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, Copilot, or similar).
- Proven experience building personal projects using AI (e.g., an app, script, dashboard, automation, or analysis).
- Habit of checking AI output against source data.
- Ability to work independently on defined projects and meet timelines.
Qualifications
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Business Analytics, Data Science, Economics, Engineering, or a related field.
Nice to Have
- Python (pandas) for analysis.
- Familiarity with APIs, MCP, or connecting AI tools to data sources.
- Experience with Metabase, GA4, or product analytics tools.
How To Apply
Submit your resume along with:
- A link to a project built with AI (e.g., GitHub repo, live demo, Loom walkthrough, or Notion write-up).
- A brief description (3–5 lines) of the project, the AI tools used, and one instance where the AI produced incorrect output that you corrected.
Applications lacking a project link will not be considered.
