About the Role
Blue Matter Consulting is a rapidly growing management consultancy focused on the biopharmaceutical industry. We partner with life sciences companies to help commercialize therapies that extend and improve human life. As an Analytics Associate, you will work alongside consultants to tackle critical commercial challenges in biotechnology and pharmaceuticals.
Key Responsibilities
- Research therapy areas, competitive landscapes, and market dynamics.
- Deep-dive into data anomalies to understand their cause.
- Actively seek out new analytical tools, AI-driven methodologies, and approaches.
- Analyze complex, multi-source datasets and extract evidence-based insights.
- Present findings that challenge client hypotheses when the data calls for it.
- Own mistakes: flag issues immediately and work collaboratively to fix them.
- Translate analytical outputs into clear, actionable business recommendations.
- Build visually compelling, insight-driven deliverables (dashboards, models, slides).
- Understand the 'Why' behind each project request to ensure analyses connect to real business needs.
- Collaborate closely with onshore and offshore team members.
- Contribute actively in internal reviews and invite feedback from peers and senior colleagues.
- Step in to support teammates when deadlines are tight.
Requirements & Tech Stack
- Solid foundation in at least one analytical tool: SQL, Python, R, Excel, or Alteryx.
- Strong analytical thinking – you naturally ask 'why' and 'so what?' when you see data.
- Ability to communicate complex findings clearly, both in writing and visually (PowerPoint, Tableau, PowerBI or similar).
- Collaborative mindset with the ability to work across global, cross-functional teams.
- Internships and academic projects count towards experience.
Qualifications
- 0–2 years of experience in analytics, data science, or a related field.
- BE/BTech/BS in Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related quantitative field.
- Exposure to the US pharmaceutical or life sciences market is preferred.
- Knowledge of visualization tools such as Tableau, Qlik, or Power BI is preferred.
- MTech/MS (Statistics or Data Science) is a plus.
