About the Role
Verkada is seeking software engineers to join a high-growth environment, collaborating to launch global products and features. As a Software Engineer, you will own projects on various product or platform teams, working across the full software stack and cross-functionally to develop Verkada's flagship software for its security systems. This role requires being on-site at the HQ in San Mateo, CA.
Key Responsibilities
- Build scalable distributed systems for high traffic from millions of devices worldwide.
- Work with high concurrency key-value storage systems like Redis and DynamoDB.
- Utilize Postgres relational databases.
- Work with logging and message passing technologies such as Kafka and SQS.
- Deploy services using Terraform and Kubernetes.
- Develop large-scale systems for remote product interaction and configuration.
- Define and improve low-latency, high-throughput, high-reliability microservice architectures.
- Design and develop features incorporating cutting-edge computer vision.
- Design clean APIs and implement them using Python and/or Go.
Requirements & Tech Stack
- BS/MS in Computer Science or a similar technical field.
- Internship experience developing and launching products.
- Working knowledge of Python and/or Go.
- Familiarity with REST APIs.
- Comfortable working in an agile team software development environment.
- Reading Python server code is a plus.
- Must be willing and able to work onsite five days per week.
Additional Information

- Estimated Annual Pay Range: $120,000 — $140,000 USD.
