About GrowthByte.ai
GrowthByte is an AI-powered growth partner for SaaS, D2C, FinTech, and Healthcare companies in the ₹5Cr–₹100Cr revenue range. They run integrated growth systems including paid media, SEO, content, and lifecycle marketing, guided by senior strategists with the mandate of measurable revenue growth. Their paid media practice focuses on Google, Meta, and LinkedIn campaigns with AI-assisted bid optimization, audience modeling, and daily performance management, with every rupee accountable to a revenue outcome.
The Role
The Paid & Performance Marketing Intern will gain hands-on experience managing live client ad accounts across Google, Meta, and LinkedIn. This is an active role involving campaign building, performance data analysis, ad copy writing, A/B testing, and participation in strategy calls. The goal is for the intern to be able to immediately identify campaign strengths, weaknesses, and necessary actions.
Key Responsibilities
Campaign Execution
- Set up and manage campaigns across Google Ads (Search, Performance Max, Display) and Meta Ads (Facebook + Instagram) under senior supervision.
- Build ad sets with targeted audience definitions, including custom audiences, lookalikes, interest stacks, and exclusion layers.
- Write and iterate ad copy across formats: search headlines, display copy, Meta primary text, and CTAs, focusing on clarity and conversion.
- Assist with campaign structuring, including naming conventions, hierarchies, budget allocation, and bid strategy selection.
- Support LinkedIn B2B campaign setup for SaaS and professional services clients, targeting by job title, industry, and company size.
Performance Analysis & Reporting
- Pull and analyze daily performance data such as CTR, CPC, CPL, ROAS, and conversion rates, flagging anomalies.
- Build and maintain weekly performance reports in Google Sheets or Looker Studio, translating data into observations and next steps.
- Conduct creative performance analysis to identify effective and underperforming ad formats, headlines, and visuals.
- Run landing page performance checks, analyzing bounce rates, scroll depth, and form completion to connect ad performance to post-click behavior.
- Support attribution analysis in GA4 to understand channel and touchpoint contributions to conversions.
Testing & Optimisation
- Set up structured A/B tests on audiences, creatives, and landing pages with a clear hypothesis and single variable changes.
- Monitor campaign frequency, audience saturation, and creative fatigue, flagging needs for rotation.
- Assist with keyword research, negative keyword management, and search term report analysis for Google Search campaigns.
- Utilize AI tools to generate creative variants, headline options, and copy angles, with quality review before live deployment.

Must-Have
- Analytical mindset: Comfortable working with numbers daily and proactively investigating performance drops.
- Basic familiarity with at least one ad platform (Google Ads or Meta Ads Manager), even from personal projects or courses.
- Strong written English: Ability to write clear, concise, and conversion-focused ad copy and reports.
- Structured thinking: Ability to form hypotheses, test them cleanly, and report findings accurately.
- Attention to detail: Diligence in checking campaigns before publishing to avoid costly errors.
Good to Have
- Hands-on experience with Google Ads or Meta Ads Manager (personal or freelance campaigns).
- Familiarity with GA4, Google Tag Manager, or any analytics tool.
- Exposure to conversion tracking setup, pixel implementation, or UTM tagging.
- Understanding of basic marketing economics: CAC, LTV, ROAS, contribution margin.
- Comfort using AI tools for copy generation, research, or data interpretation.
How AI Fits Into This Role
GrowthByte uses AI-assisted bid optimization, audience modeling, and anomaly detection. As an intern, you will learn to use AI tools for copy generation, trend interpretation, and accelerated analysis. The expectation is to develop judgment regarding AI output rather than solely relying on it, understanding when it is correct, incorrect, or requires human input. You will operate within an environment where AI assists the work, but humans own the strategy.
What You Will Learn
- How to diagnose performance issues at campaign, ad set, and creative levels in live ad accounts.
- How budget allocation decisions are made across channels and the signals that drive them.
- How to write effective, conversion-driving ad copy.
- Practical application of attribution models and how GA4 aids in understanding the full customer journey.
- How to structure performance reports that drive decision-making.
- Integration of AI tools into a performance marketing workflow and the irreplaceable role of human judgment.
Who Thrives Here
You will thrive here if
- A drop in ROAS sparks curiosity for investigation.
- You are interested in ad algorithms.
- You think in terms of marketing funnels.
- You have clear opinions on effective ad copy.
- You prioritize data verification before reaching conclusions.
This role is not for you if
- You are uncomfortable working with numbers daily.
- You prefer creative work without understanding the underlying data.
- You require complete structure before starting tasks.
- You view reporting as a formality rather than a decision-making tool.
- You prefer observing campaigns to owning them.
