About the Role
- Mechanical Engineer I position supporting the Customer Drawing Engineering and Turbine-Generator Interface Team within the Engineering Department.
- Location: Schenectady, NY
- Pay Range: $34/hour
Key Responsibilities
- Calculate and document engineering forces and moments for turbine-generator customer interfaces.
- Perform Mass and Center of Gravity (CoG) calculations for engineering projects.
- Support customer interface engineering related to piping, foundations, and structural systems.
- Prepare and maintain engineering documentation and standard work procedures.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
Requirements & Tech Stack
- Bachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering (BSME).
- Knowledge of mechanical design principles, forces and moments, and Free Body Diagrams (FBD).
- Understanding of structural foundations and building codes.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and teamwork skills.
Qualifications
- 0-3+ years of Mechanical Engineering experience.
- Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and cross-functional collaboration abilities.
