About the Role
AURVIZ is developing AI-powered smart glasses designed to enhance professional memory by processing visual and auditory information from the workday. The platform aims to make conversations, meetings, and work details searchable, improving recall and efficiency. Backed by IIT Delhi incubation, AURVIZ is advancing AI wearables through integrated hardware, embedded systems, and AI. We seek passionate engineers for our founding hardware team to build products from inception.
Role Description
We are seeking a hands-on PCB Design Engineer Intern to join our founding hardware team. You will be responsible for designing the electronics for our next-generation AI smart glasses, covering the entire PCB development lifecycle: circuit design, schematic development, component selection, PCB layout, prototyping, testing, and debugging. You will collaborate with hardware, embedded systems, and RF engineering teams to create compact, power-efficient, and reliable electronics for wearable devices. This role involves addressing engineering challenges in miniaturized electronics, wireless communication, power management, signal integrity, and hardware integration.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop multi-layer PCBs for compact AI wearable devices.
- Create circuit schematics, perform component selection, and manage electronic component libraries.
- Work on analog and digital circuit design, power management, and signal integrity.
- Develop PCB layouts considering size constraints, thermal performance, EMI/EMC, and reliability.
- Collaborate with embedded firmware and RF engineers for hardware integration.
- Perform Design Rule Checks (DRC), Design for Manufacturing (DFM), and Design for Assembly (DFA).
- Support PCB prototyping, hardware bring-up, testing, and debugging using laboratory equipment.
- Coordinate with PCB manufacturers and assembly partners for production.
- Identify hardware issues, implement design improvements, and maintain technical documentation.
Qualifications
- Strong fundamentals in electronics and circuit design.
- Knowledge of analog and digital circuit design and basic analysis techniques.
- Understanding of PCB design principles and multi-layer board layouts.
- Familiarity with PCB design tools such as Altium Designer, KiCad, Eagle, or similar.
- Understanding of RF concepts, wireless communication, and electronic systems.
- Ability to read datasheets, create schematics, and manage component libraries.
- Practical experience with laboratory equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, and signal generators.
- Background in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related discipline.
- Hands-on experience with hardware projects, PCB development, or embedded systems is a plus.
- Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work in a cross-functional team.
What You'll Get to Work On
- Real-world PCB development for AI-powered smart glasses.
- Compact, multi-layer wearable electronics.
- Embedded hardware, wireless communication, and RF integration.
- Power optimization and hardware miniaturization.
- End-to-end product development, from circuit design to functional prototypes.
- Direct collaboration with the founding team on critical hardware engineering decisions.
