Accountant

About the Role

This is a full-time, on-site Accountant role based in Thoothukudi.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day bookkeeping tasks, including recording transactions, reconciling accounts, and maintaining ledgers.
• Prepare financial statements.
• Assist with tax returns and compliance filings.
• Support audits by organizing and verifying financial records.
• Monitor accounts payable and receivable.
• Prepare periodic reports for management.
• Ensure adherence to relevant accounting standards and local regulations.
• Collaborate with team members and clients to resolve discrepancies, answer financial queries, and help improve internal processes and controls.

Requirements & Tech Stack

• Proficiency with accounting software and spreadsheets.
• Ability to use MS Excel and related tools for data analysis and reporting.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of basic accounting principles, double-entry bookkeeping, and financial statement preparation.
• Attention to detail and accuracy in data entry, reconciliations, and documentation.
• Understanding of local tax regulations and compliance requirements in India, or willingness to learn quickly.
• Effective communication skills to interact with clients, colleagues, and external stakeholders in a clear and professional manner.
• Ability to manage time, prioritize tasks, and work reliably in an on-site office environment.
• Relevant educational background such as a degree or diploma in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related field.
• Prior experience in an accounting or finance role is an advantage but motivated early-career candidates are also encouraged to apply.
