About the Role
This is a remote internship role for a PERN Stack Developer Intern at Small Fare. The duration is 3 months.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with senior developers to build and maintain web applications using PostgreSQL, Express.js, React, and Node.js across Small Fare’s portfolio brands.
- Implement front-end components.
- Develop RESTful APIs.
- Integrate databases.
- Fix bugs.
- Write clean and testable code.
- Participate in code reviews.
- Assist with feature ideation.
- Document technical work.
- Support deployment and basic DevOps tasks.
Requirements & Tech Stack
- Foundational skills in JavaScript and modern front-end development, preferably with React or similar frameworks.
- Basic knowledge of back-end development using Node.js and Express.js, including building and consuming RESTful APIs.
- Understanding of relational databases such as PostgreSQL, including schema design, queries, and data modeling.
- Familiarity with version control tools (e.g., Git), package managers (npm or yarn), and basic debugging practices.
Qualifications
- Ability to learn quickly, follow coding standards, and collaborate effectively in a remote, cross-functional team.
- Strong problem-solving, analytical thinking, and clear written communication skills.
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree or formal training in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
- Exposure to cloud platforms, testing frameworks, or UI/UX principles is a plus.
