Junior Research Fellow (GATE not required)

About the Role

A full-time, on-site Junior Research Fellow position at Birla Institute of Technology and Science (BITS), Pilani campus in Goa, India. The role supports a faculty-led research project.

Key Responsibilities

• Supporting a faculty-led research project through literature review.
• Performing experimental or computational work.
• Conducting data collection.
• Performing data analysis.
• Assisting in designing and conducting experiments or simulations.
• Maintaining accurate research records.
• Contributing to technical reports, manuscripts, and presentations.
• Collaborating with project team members.
• Participating in research meetings and seminars.
• Helping with project-related documentation and administrative tasks.

Requirements & Tech Stack

GATE qualification is not required.

Qualifications

• Strong foundational knowledge in a relevant discipline (e.g., Engineering, Science, or related field) with a good academic record.
• Proficiency in research-related activities, including literature review, experimental or computational work, and data analysis.
• Ability to document research findings clearly and contribute to technical reports, publications, and presentations.
• Effective communication skills.
• Teamwork capabilities.
• A collaborative approach to working in a multidisciplinary research environment.
• Self-motivated, organized, and able to manage time and tasks independently under the guidance of the principal investigator.
• Familiarity with relevant software tools or laboratory techniques (depending on project area) is an advantage.
• Master’s or strong Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field from a recognized institution.
• Prior research or project experience is desirable.
