About the Role
Hardesta is seeking a Sourcing Intern to join their team in Bengaluru, focusing on UAVs & Defense. This role involves owning the sourcing of critical parts for live UAV and defense programs.
Key Responsibilities
- Read drawings, BOMs, and specs; identify discrepancies.
- Source motors, ESCs, flight controllers, airframes, payloads, and machined parts globally.
- Find vendors with prior experience producing specific parts.
- Build non-Chinese, NDAA-compliant supply chains.
- Write RFQs, negotiate price and lead time.
- Manage major compliances, including import, export (SCOMET), end-user certificates, and MIL/AS9100 certifications.
- Visit shop floors to understand manufacturing processes and failure points.
- Manage orders from PO to delivery.
Requirements & Tech Stack
- Proficiency in reading drawings, BOMs, and specs.
- Ability to use a phone for communication and negotiation.
- Familiarity with sourcing critical components for UAVs and defense applications.
- Understanding of non-Chinese and NDAA-compliant supply chains.
- Knowledge of import/export compliance, including SCOMET.
- Awareness of MIL/AS9100 certifications.
- Bonus if you have built or flown a drone.
Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Aerospace Engineering.
- Based in Bengaluru or willing to relocate.
Working Hours: 12 hours a day, 6 days a week.
Potential for full-time employment in 3-6 months and leading a sourcing team within a year.
