About the Role
- R&D Design and Testing Intern at BAC (Baltimore Aircoil Company, Inc.) supporting laboratory and testing facility improvement initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the design, build, and commissioning of laboratory and test infrastructure.
- Create and update CAD models, layouts, drawings, and project documentation.
- Assist with equipment installation, testing, troubleshooting, and startup activities.
- Collect, analyze, and report project and operational data to support engineering decisions.
- Support facility improvement and continuous improvement projects across multiple engineering programs.
Requirements & Tech Stack
- Hands-on experience in a laboratory/testing environment.
- Proficiency in using shop and power tools.
- Experience with 2D and 3D CAD required.
- Proficiency in Excel.
- Experience with Autodesk Inventor preferred.
- Advanced knowledge of Excel VBA, Matlab, or similar programming language preferred.
- Strong interest in facilities, laboratory infrastructure, continuous improvement, or manufacturing systems.
Qualifications
- Majoring in Engineering (Mechanical, Aerospace, Mechatronics, Industrial, or Materials preferred).
- Juniors, Seniors, or MS students preferred.
