The Data Engineer Intern role at Weskill is a full-time remote position focused on supporting the design, development, and maintenance of data infrastructure. This role offers exposure to modern data engineering tools and practices, while contributing to data solutions that support Weskill’s learning platform and analytics initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with building and optimizing data pipelines.
- Support ETL processes.
- Contribute to data modeling and warehousing efforts.
- Prepare, clean, and structure data for analytics and reporting.
- Collaborate with mentors and team members to troubleshoot data issues.
- Document data flows and technical processes.
Qualifications
- Foundational skills in Data Engineering and Data Warehousing.
- Skills in Data Modeling and Extract Transform Load (ETL) processes.
- Skills in Data Analytics and interpreting data for insights and reporting.
- Familiarity with SQL and at least one programming language commonly used in data (e.g., Python, Java, or Scala).
- Basic understanding of cloud platforms or data tools (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP, or modern data stack tools) is beneficial.
- Strong problem-solving abilities, attention to detail, and willingness to learn from feedback.
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment and communicate effectively with a distributed team.
