Trainee chemist

About the Role

The Trainee Chemist role is a full-time, on-site position based in Bengaluru. This role supports day-to-day laboratory operations and is designed to build practical skills and technical knowledge in a professional testing and calibration environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Support day-to-day laboratory operations.
• Preparation of samples.
• Execution of chemical and material tests under supervision.
• Accurate documentation of results.
• Assist in routine quality checks.
• Follow standard operating procedures.
• Maintain laboratory equipment.
• Ensure adherence to safety and regulatory standards.
• Collaborate with metallurgists and engineers.
• Learn to interpret test data.
• Contribute to basic research and development activities as needed.

Requirements & Tech Stack

• Laboratory skills: Safe handling of chemicals, sample preparation, basic instrumentation use.
• Quality control skills: Attention to accuracy, documentation, and compliance with testing standards and procedures.
• Analytical skills: Data interpretation, problem-solving, ability to draw logical conclusions from test results.
• Research and Development (R&D) and research skills: Interest in experimental work, method improvement, and technical learning.
• Basic understanding of material testing, chemical analysis, or metallography is an advantage.
• Ability to follow instructions.
• Ability to work safely in a laboratory environment.
• Ability to collaborate effectively with technical teams.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Willingness to learn new techniques and technologies.

Qualifications

• Diploma or bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, or a related discipline is preferred.
