Mechanical Engineering Intern

About the Role

• Winter internship
• Location: Bhopal
• Format: In person
• Duration: 4 months
• Compensation: Competitive stipend + accommodation provided

Key Responsibilities

• Design parts, fixtures, and assemblies for an instrument where precise alignment is critical.
• Manage designs from CAD model to drawing to finished part, considering fits, tolerances, material choices, and vacuum compatibility.
• Assemble prototypes and perform bench testing for alignment, stiffness, and repeatability.
• Contribute to designing hardware that will be integrated into a working electron microscope.

Requirements & Tech Stack

• Fluency in a 3D CAD tool.
• Ability to create proper engineering drawings.
• Experience building physical components.
• Strong fundamentals in mechanics, materials, and manufacturing.
• Experience in machining, metrology, or FEA is a plus.

Qualifications

• Currently a third-year or final-year undergraduate student.
• Pursuing a degree in Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related field.
