Research Intern

About the Role

At Kortecx, we are building an agentic runtime platform to help teams transform descriptions into production-grade AI agents. Our systems are designed to run on everyday hardware and scale to powerful hosted models across on-premise and cloud deployments. Our goal is to make intelligence accessible, flexible, and ready for real-world use. We are seeking a curious, hands-on Research Intern to work at the core of our research and operations.

Key Responsibilities

• Run voice reviews: evaluate speech and audio outputs for quality, accuracy, and naturalness, and convert observations into structured feedback.
• Handle multi-modal work across text, voice, and other data types, including collection, cleaning, annotation, and evaluation.
• Manage and improve research workflows to ensure experiments and reviews run smoothly and on schedule.
• Identify bottlenecks and contribute to speeding up processes through better tooling, automation, and documentation.
• Conduct literature reviews on agentic runtimes and AI systems, and summarize key findings.
• Design and execute small experiments, and assist with evaluating models and workflows.
• Collaborate with engineering and product teams to document results and prepare reports, presentations, and technical write-ups.
• Stay updated on advancements in AI infrastructure and propose ideas that influence future platform capabilities.

Requirements & Tech Stack

• Strong analytical and research skills, including literature review, hypothesis formulation, and basic experimental design.
• Foundational knowledge of ML/AI concepts.
• Familiarity with Python and data analysis libraries is a plus.
• A good ear and attention to detail when reviewing voice, text, and multi-modal outputs.
• Comfort working with data, including collection, cleaning, simple analysis, and interpreting results.
• Clear communication skills and the ability to explain technical ideas simply.
• A self-directed, organized work style with an enjoyment of building processes that enhance team speed.
• Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in CS, Data Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
• Bonus: Interest in AI agents, runtime systems, or developer tooling; prior projects or internships in these areas; fluency in Hindi or another Indian language.
