Associate SQL Backend Engineer

About the Role

Saatvik Agro is seeking an Associate SQL Backend Engineer for a full-time, on-site opportunity in Morena, Madhya Pradesh, India. This role is suitable for fresh graduates and early-career professionals.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop, test, integrate, maintain, troubleshoot, and improve backend applications, APIs, database-driven systems, enterprise platforms, internal tools, automation solutions, and digital services.
• Collaborate closely with software, IT, data, analytics, operations, production, supply chain, finance, sales, and other business teams.

Requirements & Tech Stack

• SQL fundamentals including SELECT statements, joins, subqueries, aggregations, grouping, filtering, views, stored procedures, functions, triggers, transactions, indexes, constraints, and database objects.
• Familiarity with relational database-management systems such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle, SQLite.
• Understanding of relational database design, normalization, primary keys, foreign keys, referential integrity, schemas, entity relationships, and data modelling.
• Basic understanding of query optimization, execution plans, indexing strategies, database performance, and efficient SQL-writing practices.
• Familiarity with one or more backend programming languages such as Java, Python, C#, JavaScript, TypeScript, Node.js, PHP, Go.
• Exposure to backend frameworks such as Spring Boot, Django, Flask, FastAPI, .NET, Express.js.
• Basic understanding of REST APIs, JSON, HTTP/HTTPS, web services, authentication, authorization, API integration, and backend system integration.
• Familiarity with CRUD operations, database connectivity, transaction management, connection pooling, data validation, error handling, and application-to-database interactions.
• Exposure to ORM technologies such as Hibernate, JPA, SQLAlchemy, Entity Framework, Sequelize, Prisma.
• Exposure to MongoDB, Redis, or other NoSQL databases.
• Familiarity with ETL/ELT processes, data extraction, transformation, loading, data pipelines, batch processing, or database integration.
• Exposure to stored procedures, database functions, triggers, scheduled jobs, database automation, reporting queries, or backend data-processing workflows.
• Familiarity with Git, GitHub, version control, branching, pull requests, debugging, code reviews, and collaborative software-development workflows.
• Exposure to Postman, unit testing, API testing, integration testing, database testing, or automated testing.
• Exposure to AWS, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud, managed database services, Docker, Kubernetes, Jenkins, GitHub Actions, CI/CD.
• Basic understanding of Linux, command-line tools, application deployment, database configuration, logging, monitoring, troubleshooting, and production-support concepts.
• Exposure to data warehousing, business intelligence, reporting databases, analytics platforms, Power BI, Tableau.
• Familiarity with database security, user permissions, role-based access control, backups, recovery, encryption, data integrity, and secure data-access concepts.
• Exposure to microservices, distributed systems, Kafka, RabbitMQ, Redis, messaging systems, caching, asynchronous processing, or event-driven architectures.
• Exposure to database performance tuning, query profiling, index optimization, locking, concurrency, transactions, scalability, reliability, and database troubleshooting.
• Exposure to automation, data engineering, analytics, AI/ML, ERP, CRM, inventory systems, manufacturing applications, dashboards, or enterprise software.
• Familiarity with Agile, Scrum, Jira, SDLC, requirements gathering, user stories, technical documentation, sprint planning, or issue tracking.
• Willingness to work on-site.
• Strong willingness to learn new database technologies, backend frameworks, APIs, cloud platforms, testing tools, and modern software-engineering practices.

Qualifications

• B.E. / B.Tech / B.Sc. / BCA / MCA / M.Sc. / M.Tech in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, Computer Applications, Data Science, Artificial Intelligence, Mathematics, Statistics, or a related discipline.
• Fresh graduates and candidates with up to 2 years of relevant experience.
• Final-year students completing their degree and available for full-time employment.
• Candidates with 0–2 years of experience in backend development, SQL development, database development, software engineering, application development, API development, data engineering, or related technology roles.
• Candidates currently working in roles such as Associate SQL Backend Engineer, Associate Backend Engineer SQL, SQL Backend Engineer, SQL Backend Developer, Backend Developer SQL, Database Developer, SQL Developer, Associate Backend Engineer, Junior SQL Developer, Junior Backend Developer, Associate Software Engineer, Graduate Software Engineer, or similar.
• Candidates from IT services, SaaS, product companies, technology, consulting, e-commerce, fintech, telecom, analytics, manufacturing, logistics, FMCG, or other industries.
• Good analytical, logical, debugging, troubleshooting, and problem-solving skills.
• Good communication, documentation, collaboration, and teamwork abilities.
• Ability to understand business and technical requirements and contribute to practical, scalable, reliable, maintainable, and secure backend and database solutions.
