Research Intern

About the Role

At Kortecx, we engineer intelligence to mask technical barriers and turn ideas into reality in the digital space. We help businesses build and manage an AI workforce in natural language (Indic-supported). Describe needs in plain language, and Kortecx turns it into AI-ready apps and workflows that reason, use tools, ask for approval, come with enterprise guarantees, and improve with use. We are looking for a curious, hands-on Research Intern to be at the center of how we engineer, test, measure, and improve these systems.

Key Responsibilities

• Review voice and speech for accuracy, naturalness, and tone, across English and Indian languages. Turn feedback into structured, scored data.
• Improve systems and infrastructure with ideas and research-backed discoveries.
• Test like a real user by designing realistic multi-turn scenarios, including clarifying questions, changing requirements, language switches mid-conversation, and refused requests.
• Evaluate agentic chains, including runtime building and scaling, and grade results. Identify system breakages.
• Work across modalities (text, voice, video/image, and documents): collect, clean, annotate, and evaluate data.
• Run small, well-designed experiments with clear hypotheses, pass/fail rules, and reproducible results.
• Read research on agents, evaluation, and multilingual AI, and create summaries and proposals.
• Identify bottlenecks in research workflows and improve them with tooling, automation, and documentation.
• Write reports, benchmarks, and occasional demos in collaboration with engineering and product teams.

Requirements & Tech Stack

• Strong analytical skills: Ability to form hypotheses, design tests, and interpret results.
• ML/AI fundamentals
• Python (strong plus)
• Data analysis (strong plus)
• Good ear and sharp eye for detail in voice, text, and multimodal outputs.
• Comfort with data: Collection, cleaning, and analysis.
• Clear writing: Ability to explain technical ideas simply.
• Self-directed and organized with a focus on building processes to increase team speed.
• Pursuing or recently completed a degree in CS, Data Science, Engineering, Mathematics, or a related field.
• Bonus: Fluency in Hindi, Bengali, Tamil, Telugu, Marathi, or Kannada; experience with LLM evaluation, speech, or agents; a personal project to showcase.
