SOC Intern, Chennai

About the Role

This is a full-time remote Cybersecurity Operations - SOC Intern role based out of Chennai. The role focuses on supporting security monitoring and incident response activities.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist in monitoring security events.
• Analyze alerts from various security tools.
• Escalate potential incidents to senior team members.
• Review logs and identify suspicious activities.
• Document findings.
• Help maintain incident response playbooks and security procedures.
• Research emerging threats.
• Support vulnerability and risk assessments.
• Contribute to security awareness initiatives and reporting.
• Collaborate with the cybersecurity operations team.

Qualifications

• Foundational knowledge and interest in Cybersecurity and Information Security.
• Motivation to learn and grow in a SOC environment.
• Understanding of Network Security concepts, including firewalls, intrusion detection/prevention systems, and secure network architectures.
• Basic familiarity with Application Security principles and common vulnerabilities.
• Ability to follow secure coding and testing guidelines.
• Awareness of broader Cyber risk trends, security best practices, and common attack vectors.
• Pursuing or recently completed a degree, certification, or coursework in Computer Science, Information Security, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
• Ability to analyze logs and data methodically.
• Ability to document observations clearly.
• Ability to communicate findings in written and verbal form.
• Comfort working independently in a remote setting.
• Strong time management skills.
• Attention to detail.
• Willingness to follow established processes.
• Experience with security tools (SIEM, endpoint security, vulnerability scanners) or relevant lab projects, internships, or competitions is a plus.
