About The Role
Proofpoint is seeking a motivated QA Automation Engineer to join our team and ensure high-quality software delivery. This role offers the opportunity to learn Python for automated testing, contribute to scalable testing practices, and explore AI's impact on test coverage and efficiency. You will work with experienced engineers and QA professionals, gaining hands-on experience in modern testing tools, automation frameworks, and AI-driven quality strategies.
Location: Hyderabad, AP, India
Key Responsibilities
Test Automation
- Develop and maintain automated tests using Python.
- Contribute to test cases for APIs, AI providers, backend services, and end-to-end scenarios.
- Assist in integrating automated tests into CI/CD pipelines.
- Help maintain and improve existing test frameworks.
Quality Assurance
- Execute manual and automated test cases to validate new features and bug fixes.
- Identify, document, and track bugs clearly and effectively.
- Participate in code reviews and testing discussions.
- Learn and apply best practices in software quality and testing.
AI-Assisted Testing
- Support initiatives to expand test coverage using AI tools.
- Experiment with AI-based test generation and analysis tools.
- Learn how AI can be used to identify gaps in test coverage and improve efficiency.
Collaboration & Learning
- Work closely with developers, product managers, and QA team members.
- Actively learn new tools, technologies, and testing methodologies.
- Seek feedback and continuously improve skills.
Requirements & Tech Stack
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Basic knowledge of Python programming.
- Understanding of software testing concepts (manual or automated).
- Familiarity with version control (Git).
- Strong willingness to learn and grow in QA automation.
Nice to Have
- Exposure to testing tools like PyTest, Selenium, or Playwright.
- Basic understanding of APIs (REST) and how to test them.
- Knowledge of locators and selectors, especially XPath and CSS.
- Basic Linux experience.
- Familiarity with CI/CD concepts.
- Interest in AI/ML or curiosity about how AI can be applied to testing.
- ISTQB certification.
