About the Role
DataClause is a privacy-focused organization dedicated to making data protection practical, effective, and accessible. This remote Legal Intern role offers hands-on experience in privacy, data protection, and regulatory compliance. The intern will assist with legal research on privacy laws and regulations, support the drafting and review of legal documents, and help analyze legal issues related to data protection and compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with legal research on privacy laws and regulations.
- Support the drafting and review of legal documents.
- Analyze legal issues related to data protection and compliance.
- Prepare summaries of regulatory developments.
- Contribute to internal guidance materials.
- Collaborate with legal and consulting team members on client-focused projects.
Qualifications
- Strong foundation in Law, with an interest in privacy, data protection, and regulatory compliance.
- Ability to support Legal Consulting activities, including assisting with client-focused analyses and compliance recommendations.
- Experience or coursework in Legal Document Preparation, such as drafting contracts, policies, or compliance documentation.
- Clear and professional Communication skills, with the ability to present complex Legal Issues in an understandable manner.
- Currently pursuing or recently completed a degree in Law or a related field.
- Strong research, analytical, and critical thinking abilities.
- High attention to detail, accuracy, and confidentiality in handling sensitive information.
- Comfort working independently in a remote environment and collaborating virtually with team members.
- Familiarity with data protection frameworks (e.g., GDPR or similar regulations) is an advantage.
