About the Role

The Volunteer role at Viranca Legal is a full-time, on-site position based in the Pune Division. This role is designed to provide hands-on exposure to legal practice while supporting the firm’s ongoing matters and client work.

Key Responsibilities

• Assist legal professionals with research on case laws, statutes, and regulations across practice areas such as banking, real estate, dispute resolution, and commercial contracts.
• Draft and format basic legal documents.
• Organize case files.
• Prepare summaries and briefs.
• Support due diligence and document review.
• Help maintain internal databases.
• Contribute to knowledge management.
• Participate in team discussions and meetings as needed.

Requirements & Tech Stack

• Strong legal research abilities, including familiarity with case law databases, statutory materials, and regulatory resources.
• Competence in drafting, reviewing, and proofreading legal documents with attention to detail and clarity.
• Effective written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare concise summaries and reports.
• Organizational and time-management skills to handle multiple tasks, maintain case files, and meet deadlines.
• Ability to work collaboratively in a professional environment, take initiative, and respond constructively to feedback.
• Proficiency with common office software (word processing, spreadsheets, presentations) and basic document management tools.

Qualifications

• Enrollment in or completion of a law degree (LL.B. or equivalent) is preferred.
• Prior internship or moot court experience is an advantage.
• Interest in practice areas such as banking, real estate, alternate dispute resolution, conveyancing, and commercial contracts.
