About the Role
UST is seeking a Principal AI Architect / Distinguished Engineer for Engineering AI and CAD Automation. This senior role focuses on transforming engineering and manufacturing workflows by integrating deep Siemens NX customization expertise, geometric deep learning on B-Rep CAD data, and generative and agentic AI. The role utilizes IBM watsonx and Granite models, deployed on Azure.
Key Responsibilities
- Define and lead the architecture for AI-driven engineering and CAD automation solutions.
- Design and build Siemens NX customizations to connect CAD workflows with AI services.
- Model and process B-Rep and CAD data for use in geometric deep learning.
- Develop Graph Neural Network (GNN) models that learn from CAD geometry and topology.
- Architect generative AI and agentic AI solutions using IBM watsonx and Granite models.
- Apply manufacturing domain knowledge (sheet metal, forging, MBD, PMI, GD&T) to shape AI use cases and validate outcomes.
- Lead deployment of enterprise AI solutions on Azure.
Requirements & Tech Stack
- Principal / Distinguished Engineer–level experience combining engineering AI and CAD automation.
- Hands-on experience with IBM watsonx and Granite models (mandatory).
- Siemens NX: Expert-level NX customization.
- Geometric AI: Deep learning architecture for geometric and CAD data.
- B-Rep & CAD Data Modeling: Specialist knowledge of B-Rep representations and CAD data models.
- Graph Neural Networks: Expert in GNNs, including frameworks such as PyTorch Geometric.
- IBM watsonx & Granite: Practitioner experience (mandatory).
- Generative AI / Agentic AI: Architecture and delivery of GenAI and agentic AI solutions.
- Manufacturing Domain: Sheet metal, forging, Model-Based Definition (MBD), PMI, and GD&T.
- Azure & Enterprise AI: Experience deploying AI solutions on Azure in enterprise environments.
